North Kansas City Schools in Missouri likes to play it safe. To prepare for an emergency situation, the district invests in technology that keeps all administrators in constant communication. “Our first concern is safety and security. If there is a power outage or a real emergency, we want the ability to talk with our principals day or night,” says Janet Herdman, the district- executive director of information and technology services.
