My SIS is not listed on the “bridge” list.

You can still use Principalm, however you will have to export your student/staff data manually.

Principalm is very flexible in the way it can import data. Typically, customers create three extracts that contain the information they would like to have on the handheld. The files can be either comma or tab separated text files (Please let us know which format you choose).

Principalm also has the ability to create custom fields so if there is information you would like but is not listed below, please include them and we will create a custom field to hold the information in Principalm.

  1. Student Information Contains any student information you want to appear in Principalm. (Must include Student Number).

Common Fields include:

Student Number, Salutation, First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, Address1, Address2, City, State, Zip, Grade Level, Gender, Birth date, Homeroom, Homeroom Teacher, Counselor, Locker, Combo, Bus In, Bus Out, Parking Spot, License Plate, Phone Numbers, Email Addresses, Medical Alert, Legal Alert, Language, SSN, Active Status, Enter Date

  1. Contact Information Contains any Student Contact information you want to appear in Principalm. i.e. Parent Phone numbers etc. (Must include Student Number)

Common Fields include:

Contact ID, Student Number, Relationship, Salutation, First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, Address1, Address2, City, State, Zip, Phone Numbers, Email Addresses, Can Pickup Student Flag, Language.

  1. Student Schedule Contains the classes that the student is taking.

Typically this file contains:

 - Student Number
 - Course Number
 - Course Name
 - Section Number
 - Teacher Name
 - Teacher ID *
 - Room Number *
 - Period
 - Semester
 - Day
 - Credits *
 - Grades *
 - Attendance *

If you can export these file(s), please send us the column names you exported and the order which they appear in the file. We will then send you a configuration file (pde) that will enable you to import your information. The pde defines the column names and is used by Principalm to determine which information to import.

Typically, you can save the extracts definitions so that whenever you want to update your school information you just have to load and run the saved report.
