ODBC Driver: Sybase
Sybase Driver Installation
If you do not have the Sybase ASE Driver installed you will need a copy of the Sybase database installer.
For our PowerSchool users this was included in PowerSchool Install Disk 2 (PowerSchool version 5).
This guide is only for reference and is written for our PowerSchool users, if you are using another SIS please take that into consideration. Please refer to the PowerSchool and Sybase Documentation for more detailed information about this process.
- Place the CD in your CD drive, and explore the CD.
- Find the setup.exe program: [CD Drive]\sybase\installer\setup.exe
- Run this program (double click on it).
Installer
- Click Next.
- Choose your Location and Agree to the Terms of the Agreement (after reading them of course). Click Next.
EULA
- Choose your destination directory.
- Choose Custom Setup.
- On the Features page, unselect every option except for ASE Data Providers and the sub group ODBC.
Installer Features
Please note if you have already installed Sybase on this computer, just add the ODBC selection, do not uncheck the already installed items as they may be removed. - Click Next.
- Once you have confirmed everything, click Next.
- Once the Intaller has Finished, Click Finish.
- You should now be able to continue with Setting up an PowerSchool ODBC DSN.
