PowerSchool: Schools
This document details specific information about the Schools tab in relation to the PowerSchool Bridge. If you need more general information about the layout of tis tab please see: Discovery’s Acorn: Schools Tab
Once you have selected PowerSchool as your connection from the connection drop-down, you should see a new list of parameters:

Under School Information:
There may be a short delay while the paramaters load, once loaded make you selection from the drop-down:
- School number: The School number drop-down will be populated with a list of all possible schools in the database.
Under Export Filters:
There are five check-boxes here, these check boxes control what extra information should be included in the PowerSchool extract. Adding a specific selection can add some extra time to the extract process.
- Extra Student: Selecting this option will include most of the student custom fields in PowerSchool. This also includes any state specific information.
- Extra Staff: Selecting this option will include most of the staff custom fields in PowerSchool. This also includes any state specific information.
- Extra Staff: Selecting this option will include most of the staff custom fields in PowerSchool. This also includes any state specific information.
- Conduct Custom: Older versions of PowerSchool used set fields in the database to hold Conduct information. As of PowerSchool 5 most of this information is held in Custom fields, generally if you require Conduct information this should be checked.
- Att (Daily): Selecting this option will include Daily Attendance information if it exists in your PowerSchool database.
- Att (Period): Selecting this option will include Period Attendance information if it exists in your PowerSchool database.
Once these have been added you can “Test” your choice by clicking the Test button.
Test results should appear in the “Test Results” section; below is a list of many of the results, and possible hints on troubleshooting them:
- School Validated.: This is the success message, this indicates your setup is working and you are ready to extract.
In general if you do not receive a School Verified message than there is a problem internally and you will need to contact Discovery Support for assistance.
