STI: Schools
This document details specific information about the Schools tab in relation to the STI Bridge. If you need more general information about the layout of tis tab please see: Discovery’s Acorn: Schools Tab
Once you have selected STI as your connection from the connection drop-down, you should see a new list of parameters:
Schools Loading
Under School Identification:
There may be a short delay while the paramaters load, once loaded make you selection from the drop-down:
- District: The District drop-down will be populated with a list of all possible districts in the database.
- School Number: The School number drop-down will be populated with a list of all possible schools in the database. This will only be populated once District has been selected.
Schools
Under Data Filters:
- Student Key: Check this to indicate if you wish to mask (hide) the student key information, useful if the Student Key is the SSN. Once checked you can also enter the name of the field you would prefer to display instead of the Student Key. The image below shows how the screen changes once you select the check-box, to allow you to enter the field name.
Schools: Masked Field Entry
- Staff Key: Check this to indicate if you wish to mask (hide) the staff key information, useful if the Staff Key is the SSN. Once checked you can also enter the name of the field you would prefer to display instead of the Staff Key.
- Att (Daily): if checked will include Daily Attendance information.
- Att (Period): if checked will include Period Attendance information.
Once these have been added you can “Test” your choice by clicking the Test button.
Test results should appear in the “Test Results” section; below is a list of many of the results, and possible hints on troubleshooting them:
- School Validated.: This is the success message, this indicates your setup is working and you are ready to extract.
In general if you do not receive a School Verified message than there is a problem internally and you will need to contact Discovery Support for assistance.
