Security
The Security Screen contains settings that affect the security of handheld devices:
Minimum Password Length
This sets the minimum password length that can be entered on the Update Device screen.
After N Password Attempts
Tells Principalm what to do after the specified number of failed password entries:
- Do nothing – allow the user to continue entering passwords
- Suspend access for N minutes: This prevents passwords from being entered for the number of minutes specified.
- Delete the database from the card: This renders the database on the memory card unusable. It can only be restored by re-running Principalm Connect.
Making Security Settings From the License Key
All of the Handheld Security settings can be set from the license key to prevent the security level from being reduced by individual users of Connect. Please contact Principalm Support if you wish to have these settings made on your license.
When multiple school licenses have security settings, the most stringent setting is used.
