Attendance
The Attendance screen shows attendance reports for a student. This requires the Classes Module from Discovery Software.
Android
The attendance screen contains a list of all extracted Attendance scores for a student.
First we have a date header. This header has a dark grey background, a calendar icon to the left and the date (in dd/mm/yyyy) format.
Below each date we have one or more rows indicating a given attendance score. The first column will contain the Section for this score (if it exists, or can be calculated). The second column contains the time frame: either the period, day or some other reference determined by the SIS Bridge. Th last and rightmost column contains the Attendance code.
You can click on a given row to see the Attendance details screen:
Attendance Details
On the attendance details screen you may see (depending on your SIS/Bridge/Data):
- Date: This is the date for this attendance code. Format is DD/MM/YYYY
- Class: This is the name of the section associated with this attendance score. Clicking on the name will take you to details of the Class.
- Period: This is the period this code appears in.
- Time Frame/Time Slot: This is the time frame (Daily attendance) or time slot (Period Attendance) this code appears in.
- Code: This is the short name associated with this attendance value.
- Description: This is the description or long name associated with this Attendance Code.
iPhone
The attendance screen contains a list of all extracted Attendance scores for a student.
The entries are sorted by date, with the latest date first and in descending order from that entry. The date is in MMM dd, yyyy format. In a white block below is the attendance entry.
Period Attendance
The first column contains the time slot for this entry (if available); next is the Period (if it can be calculated); The third column contains the class name (if available) and the final column is the Attendance Code.
Daily/Time frame Attendance
Daily or Time frame attendance is shown similarly to the Period attendance. The only real difference is that the Time Frame will appear along with the Attendance code (none of the other columns will appear).
You can click on a given row to see the Attendance details screen:
Attendance Details
On the attendance details screen you may see (depending on your SIS/Bridge/Data):
- Date: This is the date for this attendance code. Format is Month DD, YYYY
- Timeslot: This is the Timeslot that this attendance entry is registered in
- Period: This is the period this code appears in.
- Status: This contains the Attendance code followed by the name associated with this attendance value.
- Class: This is the name of the section associated with this attendance score. The associated Staff member will also be shown. Clicking on the name will take you to details of the Class.
- Time Frame: This is the time frame (Daily attendance) this code appears in.
- Tardy Value: This is the tardy value of this code (ranges from 0-1).
- Absent Value: This is the absent value of this code (ranges from 0-1).
- Excused: This indicates if this code is considered excused or not (appears as YES or NO).
This feature was added in version 1.2.

Attendance Date Picker
If the date picker is displayed at the top of the screen it will show a date range of three weeks. Initially when you enter the Grades and Attendance screen the date range will be the range surrounding today’s date, or the closest in-session date for the school calendar. You may scroll through the dates by selecting the left and right arrows.
Period Attendance Grid
Beside the class information will be the Period Attendance Summary if the required information exists in the extracted data. Each square in the Period Attendance grid indicates a day within the date range. The colours indicate the period attendance code for this student, and if the class was in session for that day.
- Dark Grey: School not in session
- Light Grey: Class not in session
- White: Present, or no attendance exported.
- Yellow: Tardy or Late code for this day.
- Red: Absent or Truant code for this day.
Daily Attendance
If your extracted information contains a calendar, term start and end dates and daily attendance information the daily attendance will display for this student. Each square in the Daily Attendance grid indicates a day within the date range. The colours indicate the daily attendance code for this student.
- Dark Grey: School not in session.
- White: Present, or no attendance exported.
- Yellow: Tardy or Late code for this day.
- Red: Absent or Truant code for this day.

To choose between attendance reports
Tap the top left column header to choose a report from a pop-up list.
To filter the attendance report
Tap the filter pop-up at the bottom of the screen to choose a filter.
To view notes on an attendance score
Select any score cell to show a pop-up window with notes on the score (if your SIS data contains notes).
