Principalm Privacy Policy

Discovery Software Ltd. (“us”, “we”, or “our”) sells the Principalm mobile application (the “Product”).
Statement of Intent
We believe that district, school and user data belong to the district, school or user and should remain in your possession and under your control. We don’t want access to that data; nor should we have it.
That is our intent. The following is the legalese to implement it.
Information Collection, Use, Disclosure and Consent
Principalm uses only information that has been exported from your district or school administration software as configured and approved, and under the control of, your local IT / administrator. Principalm updates this information via secure local network file transfer, which may include wireless components, and stores data securely on your device.
Principalm can make phone calls and send email via your smartphone and may display pictures of staff and/or students if such data is provided to it but it does not access your address book or your cameral roll. Principalm may use your camera in active mode to read student ID bar codes but does not take pictures.
Principalm may use some of the smartphone’s other capabilities, such as location information or network status, but only for the use intended and as needed to fulfill the function provided.
In standard operating mode Principalm does not send any information to us or any other third party, other than what is disclosed herein. In the event that a user is cooperating with us in identifying and fixing defects a log file may be created and sent to us. Before being sent the log file is automatically scrubbed of personally identifiable information but the user may, at their option, enter their name and email address to identify themselves as the source of the log file.
Compliance With Laws
Since we never receive any of your information, we are not in a position to disclose information to law enforcement or to satisfy other requests for it.
Security
The security of your Personal Information is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over even a local network, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect the information displayed by Principalm, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Links To Other Sites
Principalm may send information about your location to your map service (typically Google or Apple) in order to show your position on maps you display.
Principalm may contain links to other sites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third party link, you will be directed to that third party’s site.
We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every service you use and site you visit. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third party sites or services.
Changes To This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
If we make any material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you by placing a prominent notice on our website.
